CNC Configuration Sheet

Mazak MPlus

CNC Parameters:

G1 - 1 (9600 baud)

G2 - 3 (2 stop bits)

G3 - 0 (even parity)

G4 - 0 (Disable parity check)

G5 - 3 (8 data bits)

G6 - 1 (EOB or EOR as terminator)

G9 - 1 (CR/LF for EOB)

G10 - 3 (XON/XOFF handshaking)

G11 - 0 (No DC Code parity)

G12 - 0 (No DC2/DC4 output)

G13 - 50 (Reply waiting time)

G31 - xxxxx00 (ISO code, no parity check)

G33 - 0 (no leader)

G34 - 0 (no spaces after O-number)

G35 - 0 (no spaces between program)

G39 bit 0 - 1 to accept M2 programs; 0 to reject

G39 bit 2 - 1 Input/Output Program #

G39 bit 3 - 0 for 8-digit work# or 1 for 4-digit

G39 bit 4 - 1 output material data in ASCII

G48 - 0 Usual tape operation

Remember: bit 0 is always the RIGHT-most bit.

Basic Communication

1.01- Port Type: Standard

1.11- Baud: 9600

1.12- Data Bits: 7

1.13- ASCII Even

1.14- Stop Bits: 2

1.15- Handshake: XON/XOFF


Sending Options

2.11- Leader: %<10>

2.12- Trailer: %

2.23- Skip lines that contain: %

2.31- Automatic timeout: 7


Receiving Options

3.11- Program identifier 1: O

3.12- Program Identifier 2:

3.21- Receive timeout: 3

3.31- Ignore data before first end-of-block: True

3.32- Ignore data after last end-of-block: True


Remote Commands

4.02- Request for file command: GET-

4.03- Request for file command (drip feed): DNC-

4:11- Request to save command: PUT-


Mazatrol Options:

5.01- CMT protocol enabled: TRUE

5.02- CMT controller type: MPlus

5:11- CMT file extension:  .CMT

5.12- CMT filename to use when receiving:  Program number

5:14- CMT file suffix:  .CMT


Additional Notes:

Changing CNC Parameters:

1. Press LEFT PAGE key

2. Press PARAM softkey

3. Cursor to parameter

4. Key in new value

5. Press INPUT

6. POWER DOWN CNC


Outputting CNC Programs:

Outputting EIA programs: 
1. Press PROGRAM softkey.
2. Press PROGRAM FILE softkey.

3. Press DATA I/O

4. Press TAPE I/O softkey.
5. Press PUNCH NC->TAPE softkey.
6. Key in program # (work number) 
7. Press INPUT.
8. Repeat Steps 6&7 for additional programs.
9. Press START.


Outputting Mazatrol programs: 
1. Press PROGRAM softkey.
2. Press PROGRAM FILE softkey.

3. Press DATA I/O softkey.

4. Press CMT I/O softkey.
5. Press SAVE CMT softkey.
6. Key in program # (work number) 
7. Press INPUT.
8. Repeat Steps 5&6 for additional programs.
9. Press START.

4. Press CMT I/O softkey.
5. Press LOAD CMT softkey.
6. Key in program # (work number) 
7. Press INPUT.
8. Repeat Steps 6&7 for additional programs.
9. Press START.

NOTE1: To avoid keying in program #'s for Mazatrol input, use the CMT CONTENTS function to load file contents onto the screen. Then select LOAD NC <- CMT and click START. Values will remain filled in for you.


Drip-feeding CNC Programs:

1. Set mode selector to TAPE
2. Cycle Start.
